Sigmetrics 2011 offers travel grants to enable participation to the conference by students
who would normally find it difficult to attend. This program has been made possible as a
result of generous donations from Google, HP Labs, IBM Research, Intel, Microsoft, NetApp,
and VMware.
Awarded students are highly encouraged to attend the tutorial program and the student
activities. Students receiving a grant need to agree to serve as a session scribe (if required)
during the conference.
Applications are accepted from graduate students (Ph.D. students preferred) at degree granting institutions throughout the world. Selection criteria will include evidence of a serious interest in measurement and modeling of computer systems and networks, as demonstrated by publications, coursework, project experience, and attendance to related conferences in the field. SIGMETRICS 2011 encourages travel grant applications from women and under-represented minorities.
