Student Travel to SIGMETRICS 2023

There are two main avenues for obtaining travel funding to ACM Sigmetrics 2023.

  1. ACM-W provides support for women undergraduate and graduate students in computer science and related programs to attend computer science research conferences. The deadline to apply for funding is Apr 15, 2023. More information can be found here: https://women.acm.org/scholarships/
  2. ACM Sigmetrics’ Student Travel Grant Program is described below. The deadline to apply is May 2, 2023.

Student Travel Grant Program

Sigmetrics 2023 is pleased to offer student travel grants to subsidize registration costs for attending the conference. The number and amount of the awards will depend on the number of applications received and the available funds. The grant money will be awarded in the form of a reimbursement up to a fixed amount, which will be determined based on the student’s application. Most grants will be for $1,000. Students will need to show proof of registration to SIGMETRICS.

Eligibility

Only students may apply to the Registration Grant Program, where “students” here refers to undergraduate or graduate levels, but not postdocs. Two categories of students are eligible to apply:

  1. Students at US universities or students who are US citizens (this is a restriction placed by the U.S. National Science Foundation)
  2. Non-US students (not a US citizen and studying at a non-US university) who have posters accepted at the Student Research Competition.

How to apply

All student applicants should fill out the application form here.

The deadline for submitting the application form is Tuesday, May 2, 2023. We expect to communicate decisions to applicants by Friday May 12, 2023. The instructions for reimbursement will be conveyed to the awardees once selected. If you have any questions about the application process, please email the Student Travel Awards Chair, Giulia Fanti.
