SIGMETRICS 2026 Shadow PC

This year, SIGMETRICS is introducing a Shadow PC for the 2026 conference.

What is a Shadow PC?

The goal of the Shadow PC is to provide experience reviewing SIGMETRICS submissions to PhD students, postdocs, and early-career faculty members who are not on the TPC for this year’s conference. Shadow PC reviews will not affect the decisions of the SIGMETRICS PC, but Shadow PC members will be able to see and review the submitted SIGMETRICS papers. Shadow PC reviews will not be seen by regular PC members, and will eventually be released to authors after acceptance decisions are made. At submission time, authors will be given an option to opt in to having their paper reviewed by the Shadow PC. The Shadow PC will abide by all conflict and ethical policies of the regular PC.

Why join a Shadow PC?

The Shadow PC is designed to let members practice reviewing papers and to see what PC discussions and deliberations are like behind the scenes. Specifically, it can be helpful to see how other reviewers judge a paper differently, and to see the wide range of papers that get submitted to SIGMETRICS. By reviewing papers, Shadow PC members can develop a good sense of what makes a strong paper submission to a top performance modeling and performance evaluation conference.

How does the Shadow PC work?

Shadow PC members will be asked to review roughly 3 or 4 papers submitted to the SIGMETRICS 2026 Winter Deadline. These reviews must be completed in parallel to the regular PC review timeline. Specifically, the tentative program is as follows:

  • Shadow PC Information Session: Jan. 8th, 2026 (10am ET / 4pm CET)
  • Winter deadline paper submission: Jan. 13th
  • Shadow PC bids due: Jan. 16th
  • Shadow PC paper assignments: Jan. 21st
  • Shadow PC reviews due: Feb. 18th
  • Shadow PC online meeting: Mar. 16th
  • Shadow PC reviews released to authors: Mar. 23rd

Shadow PC members must commit to writing their own detailed and rigorous reviews for papers assigned to them by the allotted deadlines. This timely review commitment is essential to the good functioning of the Shadow PC.

Shadow PC Members

The call for Shadow PC members is closed. The composition of the committee will be announced soon.
